Want to lose fat? Don’t workout too hard! WHAT?!
Here is what I mean:
Keeping your heart rate too high for too long will raise your cortisol levels. Cortisol is your stress hormone. When you put your body under prolonged anaerobic stress your raising your cortisol levels and burning less fat – you’re actually signaling your body to store fat because you are in stressed-out mode (it’s as if there is not enough food so your body goes ‘oh no! there is not enough food so I better store fat!’)
If you keep your heart rate to long for too high you will actually ‘burn’ muscle – you are increasing your cortisol level and decreasing your testosterone levels.
What you need is interval training.
Take rests that allow your her rate to get back down to about 65% then get back into it!!
